HP laptop hard drive failure 301

My HP laptop is saying that my hard drive has failure 301 and also has no bootable device. I’ve plugged it into my old laptop using a SATA to USB adapter and it discovers it but it isn’t the proper hard drive? Does anyone know any tricks around this? I’ve tried everything possible so far in terms of recovery manger and nothing seems to work! I’m not bothered about the actual hard drive, it’s more about the photos I have stored on there! I’ve seen videos where people have opened theirs up and cleaned, does anyone have any advice on this?

Sadly, it sounds to me like you are going to have to replace the drive.


Anyone else have any suggestions?
