HP mini 110 laptop shows only BLACK SCREEN (capslock's indicator is on)

I have an HP mini laptop
Everytime I turn it on
It only shows black screen after windows loading
Please help
I need it for school.

a technician told me that I'll be needing to re format it
but HOW?
