HP Omen 15-ax000na vs Asus GL552VW-DH71

For nearly a month I have been researching for a gaming laptop, keeping price, build quality, portability (weight) and specs in mind.

Currently I'm down to these two laptops

On amazon, HP's Omen laptop is certainly going to save me money if i choose to purchase it but there is also Asus's laptop and I was wandering which I should go for overall keeping value in mind?

Asus GL552 is the better choice. And it's worth investing your money on it. (If you plan on using the machine for 2-3 years minimum)

LUCKILY, Lenovo just released their new Legion series laptop for gaming and there is a Y520 model for 899$ which goes on sale this February.
It got an Nvidea 10 series GPU which is the smart choice for any gaming laptop in 2017. So I'd suggest you to put your faith in it.
That is even better than GL552.
Anyways, if you're dead set on purchasing a laptop sooner, consider ROG GL502VT (3Gb GTX 970M) that costs 1100$.
And if you want to stick to a low range and don't need excess graphic power, Dell 7559 is the ideal choice and most reviewed laptop.
And if you want to go even low, Lenovo Y700 14" AMD for 650$ is the best.

Interesting suggestion. My problem is that those laptops are no where near gonna be released in Ireland or the UK and certainly not at that price, infact the only laptops that are available as you mentioned cost 50% more than what they would be in the US! You did mention that purchasing Asus's gaming laptop would be better, and I think I do agree. What in your opinion makes it that better of a laptop than the HP Omen?

Oh I understand your situation my friend being one from India, we receive laptops at spiked prices and too late from their release.
Anyways in that case, Asus still shines cause Asus' starting range of laptops dont have much of a price variations. And it's heavily speced.It's graphics is way better than Omen (3GB 960M vs 2gb 960M), Asus is easy to upgrade, got great design asthetics, is lighter and thinner and also the build quality difference is noticeable. Omen feels very plasticy in matter of builds. I say all this based on th fact that one of my friend purchased the GL552 just a month ago. In your case, I'd suggest you to still wait for a few months cause spending that amount of money for a gaming laptop with 960m or below is not a smart choice for 2017.
Also, Dell just released the new Inspiron 14 and 15 gaming laptops for 800 and 900$ and also Alienware series with it's 13 R3 starting at 999$ and all these come equipped with GTX1050 or above.
I know this is still irrelevant to you.

But again, my advice is to wait for a month or two. Cause Asus and Acer and HP will be refreshing their gaming lineup and surely something under 800 or 900 $ will land in your country with better specs.
