hp pavilion dv2000 black screen fix

HP Pavillion dv2000 turns on lights etc.but just black screen. I have no external monitor to test it. Any suggestions, please

Yes ... connecting an external monitor would at least let you know if the rest of the lappy is ok. Have you checked to see if it is actually set to external monitor?

should be the Fn + the key that shows a monitor symbol.

Try toggling it once it boots up ... that might be why the screen is blank.
