HP Pavilion dv5000 CD/DVD-RW Issue

Hey this is for my bro really, he bought this HP Pav laptop about 4/5 months back and the DVD drive suddenly isnt working, it's not showing up in my computer, in the hardware management or anything, i know theres power because the lights on and you can hear/feel it working.

Any ideas whats wrong?

I've restored back to March'07 and still no luck!

Is it in his BIOS? Very possible it's bad, if the machine is under warranty I'd send it back

Yeah it's not, i checked the Event manager and i found an error where it was disconnected! lol so yeah it's been pulled off inside oh well yeah it's under warrentee so it's no problem 😀
