So basically, I have this nice little laptop by HP, the DV5006, after a while of using it fine and without trouble I upgraded to a newer more powerful laptop and thus put away the HP one, after a week or two I got out the old HP laptop only to find that the keyboard will input nothing but accented vowels.

I have done a lot of research and testing myself and have found that the following things do not in any way help:

■Installing another version of windows (core drivers only too and all XP, Vista and 7).
■Using an external keyboard (yields the same results, that being only typing accented vowels).
■Re-flashing a stock BIOS upgrade.
■Making sure the ALT key isn't being held down.

Yeah, I know some of you here have good knowledge for things like this, would be greatly appreciated if you could help!

Thanks~

When in BIOS, the standard keys such as Up, Down, Left, Right and Enter work somewhat but beeping as if an invalid key was pressed keeps happening, if I press any key at all when this happens it pauses the beeping but resumes after 1/2 seconds.
