HP Pavilion dv7-1267cl won't start

My HP Pavilion dv7-1267cl won't start. There are rhythmic sounds coming from the DVD Rom casing as if it is having start-up problems and it won't allow the computer to boot. Any suggestions to correct it please?

if the cd is making a booting sound then it is posting but no displaying on your screen. likely cause is faulty ram.
