hp pavillion dv4 it tries to boo and is all that it does but never boots

hp pavillion dv4 it tries to boo with out succeeding, I can see on the screen it reads Hp. but then goes back to restart from the begining.

Try resetting the BIOS. Power on the unit and immediately begin pressing either F10 or ESC until the BIOS setup screen appears. Choose the option to reset to default or optimal settings. Reboot.

If that does not help it may be a Windows issue. Did you update any drivers or install any new applications prior to the problem starting?

Could also be a dead hard drive or a bad memory module.
