I am considering the HP Pavillion DV6-1211AX laptop which is recently launched in India. I need to know whether the machine is sturdy and reliable. I basically want it for personal uses like playing music, browsing, photo storage, office applications etc.

this laptop is good.. you get all the features at an affordable price.. This notebook for your use.. This has even got a wooping 1 GB ATI Raedon GC... so good for games and HD videos as well.. Complete Entertainment Package...

A GPU having 1GB of memory at 1366x768 is almost worthless. However, the chip is a 4650, so it will do it's worth in gaming.

The machine is actually a bit too powerful for your uses - an integrated graphics solution would be fine for you.

I could say the same for hundreds of other manufacturers. Every company makes dud machines. There's no way to avoid it.
