hp updates slow

hp support assisstant pops up every now and again with updates. They take forever. is there a way of checking if I need them or a faster way to download?

Download would be determined by your internet connection. Your speed and how good your connection is. If connecting via WiFi you may want to try and connect via Ethernet when doing the downloading (if possible) and that should help a bit with the speed.

For the updates, you should be able to go into "Control Panel" and then "Windows Update" to check yourself for updates. However they usually do show up as soon as they are available.
