I have tried every suggestion I could find on the Internet for this issue and nothing works. The killer is HP INSISTED this was a necessary Update for security. If you look on their website, they have done this repeatedly to countless people. I will NEVER buy anything they make again. Period.

I have fought with this computer for over 8 months and do not know what else to try?

Is it still under warranty?

How did you update the BIOS? Was the charger connected?
What happend while updating?

Did you restart the device by pressing the power button after the update for about one minute?

Thanks for the very prompt reply. No warranty. I tried every suggestion on HP website and everything else I could find. Last try, used a 2 gig fat32 with the following method "" "HewlettPackard" folder, then "Bios" folder, in there will be 3 more folders, copy ALL the files from sis's "Current" folder to your "current" and "previous" folders on your usb drive that has the same folder structure.
Be sure the usb drive is fat32 and
has the volume name HP_TOOLS with the proper folder structure. ""

The notebook would flash a grey screen , the caps lock flash one long two short indicating bios corruption, and then it would do it all over again for hours.

remove the charger, the battery and the RTC battery inside the laptop. Press power a frew seconds and reinstall all.
