HTPC/Media center build

I have a A6-6400k apu, a fm2+ motherboard, a 64gb ssd, a 750 watt power supply and an optical drive. I am looking to build a htpc(probably running xmbc)/dvr. I would like it to be able to record 3 shows at once and use hardware that I already have. I also have a surrond system already in place so I would like to use that to. I would also like it to have a terabyte of storage.

What is your video source, cable, satellite, or over-the-air broadcasts?

You'll need a cablecard from your cable company and a cablecard TV Tuner like this SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime Triple Digital Tuner.

any recommendations for how much ram?

I generally recommend 2GB for each tuner, so if you went with the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime, I'd recommend at least 6GB. Any 2x4GB kit that suits your motherboard would be fine. The rest of your components should be more than enough to handle your DVR needs.
