Having trouble with hooking up dvd player through dish and my olevia tv..have the red white and yellow cables...and regardless of where its hooked up or what component i choose..cannot get dvd player to play..what am i doing wrong

Your DVD player has nothing to do with the Dish receiver. If your TV is from last ten years or so, it should have HDMI input(s), and this is the best connection for both Dish and DVD.

Please post exact model numbers of all three components (TV, DVD, Dish), so we can help you.
