My Sennheiser wireless headset does fine on regular TV however, when I switch to Amazon Fire TV (utilizing a splitter to switch to Prime) I can no longer hear a thing.

What is this splitter you are using and why? Need details how everything is hooked up.

Try changing the audio setting on the Fire TV.
