I can't decide at all...

So my problem is that I can afford to buy a cheaper gaming laptop right now ( DELL Inspiron 7567) or In a year or so I may be able to buy an Alienware 13 R3 with OLED. But I have hype that I can't get rid of. So should I punch my hype in the gut and get a better laptop in general, or buy a gaming laptop now

Does a gaming desktop and a 13-15 inch normal laptop not work in this case?

A gaming desktop is much cheaper and more powerful while still allowing the laptop to be portable and power friendly.

They make fairly small cases that can fit decent sized graphics cards like the Geforce 1070

But if a gaming laptop is what you are after then buying a Dell Inspiron 7567 right now would depend what you have now for gaming.

Laptops are not upgradeable (at least not the CPU and GPU), thus you are stuck with what you got. So if you feel like you are going to greatly regret buying one today then wait off. Besides, by next year the 8xxx HQ chips will be out with 2 more cores.

I have a mac and the only thing about the Dell that I am hesitant about is the display

Dell makes good displays, naturally the expensive models will have a better one then the base ones but compaired to most other OEMs Dell is actually a step above in this department.
