I can't remember PUK or Pin Codes

My Contract Finished with Vodafone.
That Mobile Battery died .It was replaced and a new sim added but I can 't remember the Pin Code. Where do I find it?
Is that the 1 where I can use Pin Number or Pattern?
Will the new owner be able to Unlock and use it once she knows the Code
Or does Vodafone Unlock it.

If you did not note your security PIN to the phone you will not be able to find it anywhere.

I am not really sure what you are talking about the new owner. You sold your phone to someone? Or are you talking about your SIM card? It would not be re-used for someone, it should just be destroyed or re-programmed.
