I can't use my internet?

My laptop is not even a year old yet and I have no idea what's going on. I have run Norton scans and it says my system is fine but I can't open my internet. Well, it opens but I can't get anything to load. I can't use the internet on my laptop and I have three online classes. This is a problem. Someone please help me?

I would try: restarting the laptop, unplugging router and modem for about 20 seconds and plug them back in.
