I got a call telling me to call IRS to the following number: scammer# removed. i think that it is a scam, but I liked to contact the IRS with this message to make sure that it is a scam. Please respond.

If you are interested in not having your email and phone number passed around with scammers, you may not want to post it publicly on the internet.

Also if you want to contact the IRS, you should contact the IRS not do a post on a forum, there are many ways to find out contact numbers for any government agency.
