Actually, that's what I usually do: read a book, often on the pda, even
using the down arrow to page through the text. Or I listen to music (2GB
CF card).

If all you did was hit the down key and only every so often the touch pad
would work fine.

Just do what I did, buy an external joypad that connects to the bottom slot.

Actually yes, eventhough the question wasn't directed at me. =) It takes
some practice but I manage just fine to play most games I did on the h5555.
If you can't get used to it, buy a little external joypad. Works great.
