Cannot login, getting the message 'User profile cannot be loaded'.

Try to start in safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly right after you power the laptop on, then select Safe Mode from the list. If you get logged in, I would probably go to control panel > users > then create a new administrator user and try logging on as that user, if it works just copy any files over to the new user profile
