Solved! I have a set of 70's pioneer PAX-25b speakers. They say 15w "Full Range" why do they state such a low wattage but output big

Solution

Wattage numbers have changed over the years.
When those speakers were made, a good amp may have been listed at 40 watts per channel.

Today, a "100 watt" amp might be 100 watts spread over 5 speakers (channels).
And the way they measure it has also changed.

The Speakers "say" 15w and they do crank up very well with 100w amp. Just I have never seen any speaker before that says 15w so just wondering why so much good sound with a low wattage speaker...???
