High end games wont work properly. But you should be able to play in at least direct x 9. Moreover most games can be played in lower details.
The only way is to go for a laptop with decent dedicated video card.

Make sure you have the latest video card drivers, but many games have minimum specs far outside the realm of cheap onboard video. Check the games you are trying to play and see what they require to run, then compare to your laptop specs. Shader Model version is a common one that causes issues, but there are other things to look at as well.
