I was wonderring if an ACER would work without an hard drive?

You have to have a hard drive/HDD to use a computer. That is where everything is stored. The OS (Operating System), programs, etc. Without that there is nothing to use. Now you can replace it with another hard drive/HDD, or in some cases with a SSD instead.

However, again, you can't actually use it without somewhere to have the OS and programs.
