I have an LG G3 that's with Verizon and I change that over to Straight Talk

It should work on the new carrier, but only if it is unlocked. If it isn't, you would need to get Verizon to unlock it first.

Also, to make certain that it will work on their service, the only people who can tell you for sure is Straight Talk. So I would contact them. Once the phone is unlocked.

If you don't get it unlocked, you can't ever use it on any other service.
