I have an LG TV when it is turned on its side the power works when it is turned upright the power goes off

That sounds like a wire might have come loose inside the thing. When it is on its side gravity helps the wire make contact, when you stand it up the wire (or component) lifts off.
Unless you are handy with a magnifying glass and soldering iron, this is a repair shop job... if it is this problem. It could be something else, but this is the only thing I can think of at the moment.
