i have insrted my sd card and nothing pops up to help me get my files off

I have been trying to move files from my sd card to my laptop but I can't find anywhere how to access the information or even the card itself

Did you check in the My Computer list to see if the card is there? Check Disk Manager to see if it's seen? Was the card from a phone? Was it encrypted?
