I have lost my laptop screen...

Hello,
I have connected my laptop via a HDMI cable to my television and when I intended to extend my desktop to TV I have seemed to have made it the permanent desktop, the worst part is the TV says out of range so I cant see what is on my laptop in order to change it back, how can I regain the use of my screen when I cant see it on the TV or the laptop itself?

Boot the laptop in SafeMode and change the display settings there.
When you turn the power on keep tapping on the F8 key till get you the advanced boot options.
