I just got a new laptop and it's making a crackling sound

I got a new laptop yesterday. I am downloading Team Fortress 2 and it is making a weird crackling sound. Why is this happening?

If it is a new device and is doing that take it back and have them replace it. If you are past that point, contact the manufacturer.

If the crackling is coming from the speakers, go through your audio settings (in "Playback devices", or in the Realtek audio software, if it's installed). Perhaps there's an enhancement enabled.

Or... do you have the laptop near a phone or tablet that connects to a 3G or 4G network? Interference from that can cause weird noises to come through from the laptop speakers.

If it isnt a driver issue, which it might be, send it back and have them replace it. Do not try any repairs on your own itll void your warranty.
