I've wondered if the iPhone Mini was profitable at all, or just not profitable enough for Apple. If it was the latter, it's a shame that businesses are so short sighted these days. After 10+ years on Android, I switched to Apple because of the Mini, and my wife and son subsequently switched to Apple too. That's 3 sales that all came from offering the Mini. Sometimes there's more value in a product than the actual profit it generates.

When the time comes to replace it, if Apple doesn't offering anything in this form factor (maybe a future SE based on the 12/13 Mini), I'll be headed back to Android if a small (non garbage) phone exists there.
