I need a fast laptop for Excel spreadsheets and sufficient memory for large files; Asus 555 or Lenovo Flex 25

Please help want a fast dependable laptop, I will have to download large blueprint files. I am undecided which to choose. ASUS K555LA DH71 i7-4510 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Intel Graphic 4400 DVD-RW BT
OR
Lenovo Flex 2 15D
AMD A8-6410 APU 8GB RAM 1TB HD Radeon 5th Graphics 15.6" touch screen. ( I don't really need the touchscreen) they both come with windows 8.1.
Can someone please help

Overall the Asus has the better processor and integrated graphics.

The i7-4510u is only a dual core CPU, but each core is far more powerful than each core in the A8-6410. The A8-6410 APU is an entry level quad core CPU based on the Beema architecture that is primarily meant for low end laptops. The A8-7xxx and A10-7xxx series uses the more powerful Kaveri architecture, but Kaveri still pales in comparison to a Core i5/i7 CPU.

The Radeon R5 (Beema) graphics core is only about as powerful as the Intel HD 4200 which is a bit less power than the Intel HD 4400 in the Haswell generation Core i7-4510u CPU.

Thanks for your input jaguarskx. The Asus is a couple of hundred more but it sounds like its worth it. I've been reading mixed reviews on the tech support from Asus as well as the reliability of this product.

Don't get a laptop with sh^% 1366x768 screen - it will make your blueprints look blurry!
Pay a little bit more for 1920x1080 screen.
Do you need 750gb slow hard drive? Consider getting an SSD instead - then you will have really "fast" laptop.

Okay I agree with you, the 1366x768 screen is sh*t. Can you recommend one or two that have the 1920x1080 display? Also with sufficient speed and memory... Please?
That's why I am on here. Although I'm learning a lot more, you guys already know this stuff. I just know what i want.
