I need help choosing a laptop for college!

Hey guys, I'm going to be a college freshmen this September and I need a laptop. I've used desktops all my life and have never bought a laptop. Some requirements for my laptop is that
1. Must be gaming laptop
2.15 inches
3.i7 processor and good graphics
I am willing to spend ~1000$ USD. Some laptops I have in mind are the

The GL551 is the best, it's thick so no overheating issues and it's made by ASUS.
