Did the restore process itself fail, (before the Boot Manager error)?
If yes, the hard drive may be faulty.
You can test the hard drive with
DFT for DOS. Download the CD Image from here:
https://www2.hgst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT
Create a CD from it using
IMGBURN:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn
Now boot your notebook from that CD.
When you see a two-item menu, highlight
ATA only, press <Enter>.
DFT will open shortly.
Select the
Extended test as it's more thorough.
If the drive fails, you will have to replace it with a new one.
