Solved! i still can't get out of incognito mode

this is ridiculous. I have a HP chromebook and can't disable incognito mode..

You may want to start at the beginning. You actually need to start the browser in incognito mode, are you saying that is the default option for you now without having to hit Ctrl + Shift + N or going into the options to open a new Window? Did you try resetting browser settings to default? Are you maybe running the system in Guest Mode?
