If you are using the Orbit Downloader application on a computer that is connected to a local area network (LAN), and you have any proxy installed in the network, you might find it difficult to connect your instance of Orbit Downloader to the Internet with the default configurations.
In most LAN environments, the administrators generally install the proxy applications or the entire proxy server altogether in order to hide the internal IP addresses (local subnet) from the external network (the Internet) for security reasons. The proxy server is also used to cache the already visited webpages so that it becomes easier for the users to surf the Internet with least latency.
Another advantage of having a proxy in your internal network is that you can restrict access to the unwanted and unproductive websites, and can allow the users to access only the URLs that are useful for your business.
If your network has any proxy application or proxy server installed between the external and internal network, you can configure your instance of Orbit Downloader and can provide the address of the proxy server within its interface for smooth downloading experience.
After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure the Orbit Downloader to communicate with the proxy server within your local area network and enable its communication with the Internet through the proxy.
