Seems like having to go through your past opened apps is going to be a thing you have to do consistently. This is already something I do with my iphone 12 pro max because I've always felt like leaving past app open makes the phone use more power. I noticed when managing the open apps on my phone and keeping them closed once not in use leads to longer battery for the day and the phone doesn't get as hot.
