Stopping hdmi leads rather quickly. The screen went blue as if no signal then blank. The led power button is red but tv will not switch on

Monitor or TV? Thinking TV but best to confirm. Make and model?

Power "button" actually a red LED to show that power is available - correct?

Any pops or snaps noted during the HDMI cable swap; i.e., static discharge into the HDMI port?

What was the HDMI cable plugged into on the other end?

Do you have the applicable User Guide/Manual?

May be some troubleshooting options listed therein.

Hitachi 42”
Power button is red led.
No pops noted at the time.
HDMI cable was plugged in the tv at the time. I was using a HDMI splitter box as I’ve three other tv running off it.
Don’t have user guide but am sure will be able to download it somewhere.

Try swapping ports on the HDMI splitter box or directly bypassing it.

Just as a matter of elimination and testing.

HDMI cables carry DC voltage just like USB so you may have damaged the input board or power supply board.
