how long will it take for 6th gen i5 laptops to come out? and what could be the price of the 6th gen i5 as compared to 5th gen i5 (keeping other config same)

They're out. MSI, Asus, and Dell just introduced them into their lineups.

They're available now. Pricing will be similar; apples to apples comparison, you might see a $50 - $100 difference, but otherwise laptop pricing should be almost identical.

if i compare it with current i5 5th gen, how much performance improvement could be there? they say like 2.5x faster, 40x improvement in graphics as compared to i5 5 years back. So if i compare it to current i5 5th gen, how much increase in performance can i expect.

Depends what specific chip you're comparing. Most Broadwell chips used in laptops were the 15w TDP low powered u series chips. Most higher powered chips were still 4th gen Haswell variants.

That said, about a 10% improvement for same series chips over Broadwell. I don't believe i7s were a huge jump either.

They are out now and I think the performance will be small. They may pull ahead on the multi core but I am not sure by how much.
