Solved! Icon Overlays - Whose are these?

Solution
Solved it! It appears the goofs who wrote Norton Backup thought it would be cute to put overlays on the icons by default. To get rid of them, one has to make sure the "Classic", also known as the screen that actually shows all the settings, one can turn off the overlays.
