Question I'd like to identify an app by the icon.

I've done basic searches using the image.

You should be able to identify the app in your installed apps list. Have you actually looked there?

This is on my partner's phone
I saw it as he was closing open windows on his phone.
Can't ask him because it will result in an argument.

Then you have issues we can't help with. The icon isn't one that normal methods is identifying. Could be a local app, something used by work, or a VPN thing. Really no way of knowing without asking. Sorry and good luck.
