Im torn between the two

They are both right within my price range but i want a 15.6" or small er but i also want The non le version. is it really that noticeable switching to 768p when gaming on a 17"? thats my main concern. Any advice would be great

i would go with the larger Acer Aspire V3 model. It has a much faster cpu, better graphics, and a higher resolution display that will certainly be noticable. And it's cheaper. You have to weigh whether the size is a big enough problem to make the smaller one worth the worse performance/resolution.
Also the V3 has a quad core processor while the timeline is a dual core so really the V3 wins by far except for in size.

The ultra book really sucks for gaming. the gt640m isn't that great of a card to begin with.

i wont have the money til the end of october just hope its sstill in stock. and also i was thinking of gettings the windows 8 version....but i tried the preview and just seems like unnecessary stuff. Any thoughts people?

from what i've seen i'm not impressed with windows 8. But some people do like the UI.

The 7730m and the 640m are about as good as you can get for the price you're talking about. You could also do the A10/7670m hybrid thing....but there's a catch to that: it can be as fast as the 650m but some games don't support CrossfireX so your performance would just be pure crap on those titles:

i tired hybrid once.. wayyyyy to much of a headache >.< And i like radeon but it seems more goes wrong with radeon switchable graphics than nvidia.
