Import applications from formerly bootable hard disk

I need to move applications from a removable hard disk into a new laptop. My old laptop motherboard died, but its hard disk is fine. I wish to connect the hard disk as an external drive to the new laptop, then run some software to transfer applications and their registry settings, etc. from the old hard drive to the new laptop.

AFAIK, programs like LapLink PCMover won't work for me because they want me to have both computers running, and my old laptop is dead! Is there any software that will do what I need? The dead laptop was running XP, and so is the new laptop.

No can do, they must be reinstalled.

You can clone your hard drive only if the new motherboard is the same model as the old one, otherwise it won't work properly, or maybe it won't work at all
