It's active, so it's only receiving 'line in' so the AV-amp is irrelevant. But the amp inside the sub is what it is, and the speakers are designed to match. Buy a new sub?

If the receiver doesn't have line level outputs that you can connect a power amplifier to you can use speaker to line level converters on any of the channels you want to add an amp to.
As mentioned above for an active subwoofer using a different higher power amp usually will damage it. Better to get a better subwoofer with a larger and or better speaker and a higher output amp that matches it.
