Hi all,

After the feedback that I received here, I decided to buy a laptop. I wanted one that would have good battery life, a decent screen, good keyboard, and be reliable. Budget was 500-700. After agonizing in the lenovo outlet store, I purchased one and wanted to know what you think!

Lenovo T440 (Refurbished via Lenovo)

Intel® Core™ i5-4200U processor (2 cores, 1.60GHz, 3MB cache)

Windows 8.1 Standard 64 - English

Intel HD Graphics 4400

4 GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600MHz SODIMM Memory

14.0" HD+ (1600 x 900) LED Backlight, MultiTouch w/720p HD Camera

UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader

256GB SATA 2.5" Solid State Drive

No Optical Included

Integrated 3-cell (23.5Wh) plus External 3-cell Lithium Ion (23.5Wh) up to 8.6 hr

11 b/g/n Wireless BT Combo

No Bluetooth

Integrated Wireless Wide Area Network upgradable

Fingerprint Reader

1 Year Standard Depot Warranty

Laptop - Black

$701.68

There is a vacant slot for ram, so I'll throw a bit more in probably (which will put it slightly out of budget). But I think I got a pretty good deal, what say all of you?

Hi again!
So I haven't received it yet, and I'm debating cancelling the order and getting this t440s that's in my town:

CPU: i5-4300U
 8GB memory
14' 1600x900 Screen
256 GB SSD Samsung PRO level

Is it wireless ac? yes, it is Intel wireless AC - 7260
Does it have fingerprint scanner? yes
Bluetooth? yes
Touchscreen? NO

$770 (which is what I will end up paying for mine once I get more ram)

So its a T440s which is sleeker, it has a better wifi card, more ram, bluetooth, and a better processor.

BUT crucially, it has no touch screen. I have not really used windows 8 much, do you think I should stick with my original purchase? I'm inclined to say yes.

If only it had a touch screen...I would buy it in a second :(

Hm...now that I am looking again, it actually isn't clear that my original purchase has a touch screen. I was tired and must have imagined that (runs off to chat with lenovo). LOL
