Please help me choose from two:

Both having intel i3-380m processor 2.53ghz, windows home premium 64 bit

Difference lies (INSPION Vs XPS) :

1) 4GB (2 X 2 GB) 2 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz Vs 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (1 x 4GB)

2) ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 550v - 1GB (India) Vs 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 420M Graphics with WIDI

3) 500GB 5400RPM Hard Drive Vs 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive

4) Dell Wireless 1501 802.11b/g/n Half Mini Card Vs Intel Wireless Network Card 6200

5) 6-cell Lithium Ion Battery Vs 6 Cell Primary Battery

77) Paying same inspiron is coming with 2 year accidental cover and XPS with 1 year.

Processor, RAM and GPU performance is pretty much going to be a wash, with no real performance differences. The two advantages the GT 420M has are the ability to use DirectX 11 and Intel's Wireless Display and NVidia's Optimus for better battery life. The XPS has the better HDD (faster) and Wireless card (more robust). Battery life will probably be pretty similar, maybe with the XPS being a little longer. The XPS also an Aluminum case, making it sturdier and more durable.

It depends on the person. Also, not sure if Dell still does this, but they used to give you the option of extending the warranty when the year of support was coming close to an end. Might be something to ask them about.
