Installed new ram computer not working now

Installed new ram computer won't load leaves me at a black screen
Removed old ram
Removed cmos battery for 3 minutes
Removed new ram
Computer begins to start up black screen never nothing
Hard drive starts up after awhile fan spins up then back off
Plugged in a monitor nothing please help
I'm an amateurs computer tech that just broke my moms laptop or something at a complete loss :/

Which RAM is in there now? Was the new RAM exactly the same spec as the old apart from higher rating?

Was ddr3 ram Kingston ram
New was just another exactly same stick as the first one

So is it not booting with only the original RAM installed in the slot it occupied before?

Are there any beep sounds coming from within?
