Solved! Installing os on laptop with bare hard drive

Hello,
I need help!! have a bare hard drive that i need to put win xp onto but i cant partion or format the drive.....Any help please??

The easiest thing to do is to buy an empty drive enclosure and turn the bare drive into a USB drive.
