Hello I'm having a hard time choosing which laptop to buy, which one is better for video editing and some light gaming?.. here they are...

Intel
Asus X551CA-BI30804C
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232438
CPU - Intel Core i3 3217U (1.80 GHz) DUAL-CORE
GPU - Intel HD Graphics 4000
RAM - 4GB (Don't know if it can be expandable)

AMD
HP Laptop Pavilion 15-f008cl
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834261187
CPU - AMD A6-Series A6-5200 (2.00 GHz) QUAD-CORE
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 8400
RAM - 4GB (Don't know if it can be expandable)

I've done some research and it looks like on the Intel, the memory cant be upgraded.. I've called ASUS and they told me they don't have any information whether it can be upgrade it or not..(unbelievable)

I also call HP and they told me the exact same thing as ASUS.. they don't have that information..

Does anybody own these laptops and can confirm this information for me please?

It's easy I can say.

If you have money: INTEL

If you don't have much money: AMD

And... When I see these specifications. I would wait, and buy better PC. This one is really low.

But in this case... I would go for Intel.

Agreed

Even if the AMD is a quad-core? also which GPU is better?

agreed save money buy a better laptop these two are crap. 4gigs of RAM is not enough if you plan on doing video editing, especially when its not clear if you can expand the memory or not.

I'd recommend keeping on eye on woot.com sometimes some good but not sexy looking laptop refurbs cycle through there.

Hey thanks man this one looks a lot better for almost the same price..

The hp has a slight advantage with the cpu being better than the intel, not by much. I assume you are doing the basic video editing as the cpu, gpu and ram are not that much. But beware that amds are known to overheat. I would recommend saving up a bit and buying a different laptop.
