I have an HP Envy 17 that is 2 years old and the battery is nearly useless. May last 15 minutes or less. It is an internal battery and the laptop has to be opened to replace it. I have opened it when I upgraded the memory, but it is not an easy thing to do. Not to mention the expense of the new battery. Why do they design the new laptops with internal batteries? Is there a model that I can buy with an external easy to replace battery? Seems both HP and Dell are going with the internal battery design. Even though these internal batteries do not last one second longer than the old type batteries.
