Question IOS Updates Not able to update to the newer IOS?

my mom has a IPAD Air ME906LL/A,


I did some research and seems to be this IPAD will not update beyond 12.5.5 IOS?

Any truth to that? I believe it, but just want to know others thoughts?

Yes unfortunately Apple stops older machines from updating because the new tech outstrips the capabilities of the old hardware ,I had the same problem and ended up buying a later model .

right I thought that was the case, but I thought I would ask others. Besides just
reading about it via search engine and websites. Thanks
