Who says prices should be that "low".?
These are the same people (running the US gov't) that are violating the US Constitutional LAW of the Land.
We need honking HUGE TARIFFS on all goods from slave wage countries NOW!
I'd rather have higher prices and know that my fellow citizens have reasonable wage and reasonable working conditions, and my community is decent to live in.
Plenty of people here clearly have no sense of economic history. When the US manufactured most of its value added goods here (1940s-1980s) the country was prospering, good high wage jobs were everywhere and folks could afford to pay more for items.
Fast forward to the age of China Mart...sure there are lots of cheap crappy goods to buy BUT the number of good jobs are scarce and my country is decending into bankruptcy with a mountain of debt, owed BTW to dictatorships like China.
